Finding quality videos on the web is hard work. The tools available – search and browse - encourage a trial and error approach, which all too often becomes time consuming and disappointing. This is a tragedy! There is so much good material out there - BuzzShed helps you find it.

BuzzShed is a community that recommends videos to members based on likes, interests and demographic information. Uniquely, other BuzzShed members make the recommendations, rather than a clumsy algorithm or automated process. The recommendations are based your interests and the reputation of people that want to share video with you.

When you register we’ll ask you a bunch of questions about your likes and interests. You'll then start to receive BuzzClips when other BuzzShed members add videos that match your likes and interests. You can rate the videos you receive, which will increase or decrease the reputation of the broadcaster. Videos from highly rated broadcasters and videos that have narrowly defined audiences appear first in your list, meaning quality filters to the top.

A BuzzClip is a video that another BuzzShed member has recommended to you. When you receive a BuzzClip we'll email you or add it to your RSS feed, depending on how you like to receive notifications.

Broadcasting with BuzzShed is a way to instantly launch your video to a large, targeted audience. It's fast, simple and free. You can use over 60 filters to create a narrowly defined audience, so you can target people that are most likely to be interested in your video.

Your audience will rate your videos, which will increase or decrease your reputation. As your reputation grows so will the number of people you can broadcast to. Top broadcasters can reach over 20,000 people, giving you the power to launch videos to fame on BuzzShed and across the web.

We take the security and privacy of your personal information very seriously.

When you join BuzzShed we'll ask you some questions about your interests and your lifestyle, so that we only send you relevant videos. We know that you might be concerned about the security and privacy of this information so we have a number of robust security mechanisms in place to make sure your personal information is very well protected.

In addition, we make a promise never to disclose or sell any of your personal information to anyone. We do anonymously group together information about BuzzShed members, to allow other members to target their broadcasts - but your personal information will never be individually disclosed.

If you have not received an activation email, login and check that we have your email address correct. To check that you are able to receive emails from the BuzzClip mailer, you can request a password reminder. The reminder will come from 'mailer@buzzshed.com' - which is the same address that BuzzClips will come from.

In February 2009, BuzzShed relaunched as a personal video recommendation service.

If you joined BuzzShed before this date you may have participated in an advertising revenue sharing model, which offered monetary rewards for watching videos targeted at your likes and interests.

We have discontinued this programme, as it was not delivering the intended benefits to either members or advertisers.

If you had a positive account balance when BuzzShed relaunched, we transferred this to a broadcasting credit. So if you had a balance of $5.00 - you can now receive a $5.00 discount on all future broadcasts.
